The first conversation matters more than any dashboard. This short guide helps you explain what LearnVerity sees, what it never sees, and how your family will use it fairly.
Begin with the privacy boundary
Tell your child that LearnVerity reports supported AI app opens and whether device coverage stays available. It does not collect prompts, answers, messages, screenshots, typed text, or keystrokes.
“AI can be useful for learning, and it can also make school expectations confusing. LearnVerity will show us a few limited facts, like when supported AI apps are opened and whether the app stayed available. It will not show me your private conversations or decide that you did something wrong. If something is unclear, we will talk about it together before reaching a conclusion.”
Pick two or three rules your student can help shape
Keep the first agreement short enough to remember. Assignment instructions still come first.
- Ask for hints or explanations before full answers.
- Use AI for practice, feedback, and checking work.
- Follow the teacher’s rules for each assignment.
- Talk together when the right kind of help is unclear.
Make context part of the agreement
Explain that a coverage gap, app opening, or parent question is not proof of intent. When the dashboard does not know the cause, it says so. Your student gets to explain the context, and the parent can mark an activity as learning help, needing context, or off-task without changing the original observed fact.
End with one shared goal
“We are using this to help you learn how to use AI responsibly—not to catch you.” Revisit the agreement after a week and keep only the parts that help your family communicate better.
